María José Manzano

Maria Jose Manzano Flores was born in Oaxaca, Mexico.
She completed her first bachelor’s degree in Acting and Film at the Lir Academy in Dublin, Ireland, and is fluent in four languages. She later pursued a second bachelor’s degree in Film and Media Production at Humber College Polytechnic in Toronto, ON, Canada. Maria has experience in acting, having appeared in some Mexican commercials as a child actor. Maria has worked in production coordination, having served as an Assistant Production Coordinator for commercials in Toronto. Maria has produced two 48-hour TIFF Film Challenges and another short film as part of her school capstone project.She also has directing experience, having directed a 48-hour film challenge and co-directed the short film The Story We Tell About Sarah Polley a school project, as well as the documentary Mi Casa Es Su Casa. Maria has worked as an Assistant Director on various short films, some of which were produced by the Canadian Film Centre (CFC).
Maria is currently working on a personal project in Mexico, which she expects to complete in the next few years.
